The TV (throttle valve) cable on the 700R4 (and 200-4R) transmissions help control line pressure, shift points, part throttle downshifts, and detent (WOT) downshifts. So if the TV cable is not adjusted properly or if it has become streched, it can cause odd shift patterns or other transmission problems. If your TV cable is bent, frayed, or damaged in any way that it is sticking, binding or restricting any sort of movement to allow functionality, this article will not help you. Replace your TV cable.
