With the surge in popularity of internet influencers, it's no surprise that we've witnessed an increase in video reviews of the GMC Syclone and Typhoon. Some of the most notable reviews have come from celebrity truck owners such as Jay Leno when he featured his own personal Syclone on his popular series “Jay Leno’s Garage,” as well as from the eccentric automotive group Donut Media and their insanely hilarious yet information renditions of the Syclone’s history. Because of these videos, the Syclone and Typhoon trucks have now gained much more interest in the automotive world.
In the most recent episode of Revelations, automotive journalist and host Jason Cammisa tells us the story of the GMC Syclone. Set in a dark smokey room, Jason reveals just how the Syclone is truly the vehicle that started the sport truck revolution. Now, we can already hear you saying, “Another SyTy video that is entertaining but probably has wrong information.”
This is not one of those videos. In fact, outside of official GM/PAS documentation and dealer videos, this episode is by far the most accurate and informative when it comes to reviews.
From introducing us to the staggering horsepower and performance numbers the Syclone was able to achieve, Jason walks us through the storyline of how the truck came to fruition and even includes the person responsible for the Syclone truck – GMC Truck Project Manager, Kim Neilsen. By the end of the video, Jason is so impressed by the Syclone, that he has publicly mentioned that he may need to add one to his personal collection!
