A recent revisit to update some celebrity and movie scenes that have contained either a GMC Syclone or Typhoon brings us to the Seinfeld series starring comedian Jerry Seinfeld. The famed Seinfeld Syclone is seen in Season 3, Episode 6. Kramer drops a box containing an AC unit onto the hood of a GMC Syclone. The Syclone can also be seen parked in another space during the scene. The original episode aired on Oct. 30, 1991.
From Seinfeld Season 3 Episode 6 'The Parking Garage': Kramer loses his car in a parking garage so Jerry, George and Elaine spend the afternoon looking for it. While searching, Jerry has to use the bathroom but can't find one so he urinates in the corner where a cop sees him and arrests him.
This is an epic episode known as "The Parking Garage" and along with the Syclone, there are some insanely awesome Rad-era vehicles. You will see various classic cars such as a BMW E30, a Subaru SVX, a Honda CRX, and a Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. If you are an 80-90s car enthusiast, it is worth the watch to do some fun car-spotting. We don't have any information on what truck number this Syclone was, or who owned it. It has been thought that it is Jerry's truck but it has never been confirmed that he has ever bought or owned a GMC Syclone or Typhoon. We assume that it was on loan from GM as a supplied prop vehicle, which is not uncommon to see in the movie or TV industry for product placement marketing.
A new fact recently learned from a director's cut speaking about filming this episode. There was an AC unit inside the box! The director wanted the scene to be realistic and for Kramer to feel the weight and exert the energy it would have taken to throw the box. So yes, he legit tossed an AC unit onto the hood of a GMC Syclone!
